Definition

Homelessness is the condition of people without a regular dwelling. People who are homeless are most often unable to acquire , safe, secure and adequate housing.The legal definition of homeless varies from country to country, or among different jurisdictions in the same country or region The term homeless may also include people whose primary sleep  in a homeless shelter, a warming center, a domestic violence center, a vehicle , squatting, cardboard boxes, a tent, tarpaulins, or other ad hoc housing  

Reasons
 The most common reasons of the homeless include personal and social factors making people becoming homeless.

• individual factors including lack of qualifications, lack of social support, debts - especially mortgage or rent arrears, poor physical and mental health, relationship breakdown, and getting involved in crime at an early age
• family background including family breakdown , sexual and physical abuse in  adolescence, having parents with drug or  maybe alcohol problems, and previous experience of family homelessness 
• an institutional background including having been in care, the armed forces, or in prison.

 

Consequences 

 Nowadays the mayority of homeless people sleep on the streets, and this is bad for them because they are living in bad conditions and have several diseases.Homeless people have less access to housing, jobs, health care, and basic needs like food and clothing, here the main diseases of a homeless people:

• Tuberculosis.
• Skin diseases
• Nutritional deficiencies
• Sleep deprivation.
• Mental Illness
